WCMH-TV (Channel 4) has laid off seven people, including midday co-anchor Andy Dominianni, meteorologist Dave Trygar and five off-camera employees.
The layoffs are part of a company-wide move by station owner Media General. The Richmond, Va., company announced today that it is cutting 750 employees, 11 percent of its workforce .
Rick Rogala, vice president and general manager at WCMH-TV, announced the cuts to the staff at the local NBC affiliate after the 6 p.m. newscast Wednesday, the last day of the May ratings “ sweeps.”
