Lexington-based sportscasters Tom Hammond and Kenny Rice will be covering the Olympic Games in Beijing the next two weeks, but the events they call will hit close to home.
Hammond, who is on his eighth Olympics, will be calling track and field, putting him on the microphone while fellow Lafayette High graduate Tyson Gay is on the track. And Rice will be covering equestrian events, further familiarizing himself with many competitors who will be in Lexington in 2010 for the World Equestrian Games.
