Parents as Teachers, a program for children up to kindergarten age that promotes school readiness by involving the children’s first teachers, parents, recently received more than $26,000 in grants.
Parents as Teachers parent educator Nancy Booth said she is excited about the grants and believes it will help the program - which offers home visits, screenings, group meetings and referrals to community resources - help more families. The program also helps families by providing Thanksgiving assistance and holding a Christmas party as well as one annual birthday party for each child in the program.
