And then there was one. WSTR-TV (Channel 64) will be the only area station to cut off analog broadcasting at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
Over the weekend, managers of WPTD-TV (Channel 16), Dayton’s public TV station, decided not to turn off analog. On Friday, all other Dayton stations changed their minds, and announced they would continue broadcasting both analog and digital into spring.
“We are, of course, concerned that all the station’s regional viewers have access to the station’s broadcast service. In addition, we were concerned that the transition by only one station in the market would cause confusion,” says David Forgarty, president and general manager of ThinkTV.
