Television's Big Switch took place yesterday, but there was more talk around local TV station newsrooms about Chastity Bono's sex change than about the switch from analog to digital television.
Broadcast channels were scheduled to complete their conversion from analog to digital signals throughout the day, and officials at central Ohio stations said that calls from viewers were light.
TV sets that receive over-the-air broadcasts via old-fashioned antennas had to be converted by yesterday in order to receive digital broadcasts, or their owners would see little but static.
