WCPO Talent Heads to Knoxville

Changes coming to WBIR, Channel 10: Morning anchor Ben Senger has made his departure from the local NBC affiliate official today. He's leaving in "early March," management says. It comes as little surprise. The story was tipped here when Abby Ham left last fall."Ben has decided to pursue other opportunities," says news director Bill Shory. "He has expressed to me that he is not unhappy here in any way." Senger, who married in recent months, wants to make a leap to a larger market.
Starting in March, "Live At Five" host Russell Biven will now pull double duty -- as the morning anchor replacing Senger and continuing to do his "Live" gig. He'll work a split shift at the station.
WBIR has also announced Ham's replacement. She's Lisa Cornwell, who works in Cincinnati at WCPO, an ABC affiliate.
WBIR wants to debut the Biven-Cornwell morning team at the same time next month.(more)
