After objections by more than 100 local pilots and aeronautical groups, the Federal Aviation Administration has denied WTTE-TV's request to build a state-of-the-art transmission tower near Don Scott Field.
The decision came as a surprise to Channel 28 officials, who last year hired consultants to choose a suitable tower site after having been turned down by the FAA in 1989.
