Blogger Says WLEX Turned News Site into a Blog

WLEX-TV in Lexington, Kentucky, an NBC affiliate, has turned its news site into a blog. It actually contains news produced independently of what goes out on broadcast. Very very interesting. It’s a different way of slicing the news, with much debt to Dave Winer’s river of news idea, and it’ll be fascinating to see how and in what ways it’s useful and how it changes our idea of what news should be.

The idea of a news site becoming a blog makes no sense.

it's a lazy way to post news.. no thought involved.. just toss the latest story on top... let the reader sift though all the news to find THE big story.. really bad idea.

I'm all for the internet putting the power of news decisions in "the peoples" hands, but this is bad... too hard for people to FIND the news...

someone sold wlex a bill of goods for a LOT of money

OH, how I agree !!! I hate it and will not watch it any longer. I'm on the computer all day long at work and I darn sure don't want to get my news that way.
