William Lanesey of St. Louis will lead WXIX-TV (Channel 19) into the digital TV age.
Lanesey, from the Tribune's KPLR-TV, was named vice president and general manager Wednesday, a day after John Long was fired.
Long, who did the "Consider This" 10 p.m. news commentary, had managed the Raycom station for six years.
