Charles "Chuck" Edward Mile, 58, of Bellevue, passed away on June 17, 2010 at Hospice of the Bluegrass Care Center Fort Thomas, KY.
He was a Video Production Coordinator with Mills James Productions. He was a Member of the Loyal Booster Club; a former employee of Mac Productions in Covington. Chuck was also a Member and on Staff at Northern Kentucky University Audio/Visual Production.
Chuck was born February 13, 1952 in Cincinnati, OH to Charles Miles and Gloria McQueown Miles.
He is survived by his son,Shawn Mile, of Newport, KY; and daughter, Lacy Mile, of Dayton, KY.
Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Memorials are suggested to the Campbell County Animal Shelter P.O. Box 97 Melbourne, KY 41059, or to the Brighton Center Newport 741 Central Ave. Newport, KY 41071.

WCMH Signs Up for Rentrak
Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq: RENT), the leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the advertising and entertainment industries, today announced an agreement with WCMH, a Media General NBC affiliate, to utilize Rentrak's StationView Essentials system for the station in Columbus, Ohio.

CET Kicks Off 43rd Action Auction
Yep, they’re shifting into home shopping mode at CET for the 43rd annual Action Auction coming April 14-17. The station’s biggest fund raiser again needs donations of antiques, collectibles, vacation packages, concert and sports tickets, jewelry and gift certificates.
Action Auction chair Dr. O’dell Owens will be in the CET studio 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday for a kick-off party. Donors, sponsors and potential buyers can preview some of the items already rounded up for the April telecast, and drop off donations.

WCPO A.N.D. Gets Promoted to Palm Beach
WCPO Cincinnati Assistant News Director Jeff Brogan has been named news director at WPTV West Palm Beach. Both are Scripps stations.
Prior to his long stint at WCPO, Brogan worked at WXIX Cincinnati as a producer and assignment editor.
"Jeff has extraordinarily strong skills in both content and production," WPTV VP/General Manager Steve Wasserman said in a memo. "He is a hands-on manager who is anxious to join our team and work side-by-side with our newsroom staff and other department heads to make our newscasts even better than they are today."

The immediate impact of CETarts — digital channel 48.3; Time Warner Cable Cincinnati channel 987 — will be to offer expanded broadcast of PBS shows CET already features on its primary channel. Those include Great Performances, American Masters, Masterpiece, Independent Lens, Austin City Limits and more. and it will allow room for some arts series CET now has no time slot for on channel 48, such as Sierra Center Stage, Jubilee, Classic Gospel, Theater Talk, Woodsongs (a Folk music show out of Lexington) and others.

WLWT Settles "Sexting" Lawsuit
Joanna Argus was shocked when she heard her name was shown on a television news show's graphics accompanying a story about "sexting."
That's because Argus, 30, complained several times to WLWT-TV, Channel 5, about the graphic it was using on the air and its Web site and was told each time it would be removed.
The story was about sexting - sending sexually explicit photos or text messages - but had nothing to do with Argus.

Columbus Sports Reporters Having a Bad Week
It’s been a bad week for TV sports reporters in Columbus.
Last week it was announced that NBC 4’s Omar Ruiz had left the sports crew and returned to his native California.
The move seemed way too sudden to be amiable, as Ruiz’s presence was quickly removed from the station’s website (even the “Deep Thoughts” blog, for goodness sake.)

The American Red Cross of Greater Columbus, the City of Columbus and local media representatives will host a day-long fundraiser to benefit Haiti on Thursday, Jan. 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Ohio Historical Society parking lot off I-71.
Attendees will be able to drive up and donate at the Columbus Hope for Haiti event. Local television, radio, and Print personalities, along with government officials and the American Red Cross, will be on hand to accept cash and check donations all day at the fundraiser.
