Saturday afternoon the Dayton Area Broadcasters Hall of Fame inducted a long-time WHIO-TV videographer.
The Hall of Fame honored videographer Denny Cheatham who retired from WHIO in April 2009.
Cheatham joined Channel 7 as a studio technician in 1963 and soon became one of WHIO’s top videographers.
Cheatham’s career spanned 46 years.
Saturdays other inductees included Gene “By Golly” Barry, Arlen “Bucky” Bockhorn, WDTN’s Marsha Bonhart, A.J. Brown, Dr. John “Turk” Logan, Deborah Parenti, WHIO Radio’s Toula Stamm and Teresa Weaver. Idotha “Bootsie” Neal was honored with the 2009 Community Service Award.
The Dayton Area Broadcasters Hall of Fame aims to recognize talented broadcasters in the Dayton area for their many years of service in the industry and their dedication to the community.
