Major changes to the number one morning show in Cincinnati. Effective immediately, WKRC has let go of morning anchor Anna Townsend. Townsend came to Local12 nearly four years ago from Missouri, and while Townsend confirmed to the Cincinnati Enquirer she was fired, she nor station will comment on the events that led to today's dismissal. Starting Monday, viewers will see Liz Bonis with John Lomax. Bonis has been the station's health reporter and most recently, morning news reporter. Bonis came to WKRC from the morning show on MIX 94.1 FM. What do you think of the changes? Will this hurt WKRC's morning ratings?

I am hoping they do not keep Liz Bonus as a permanent anchor. I grew to like Anna Townsend after Cammy, but I have never cared for Liz. I hope John Lomax hangs in there!!!
I agree. Anna was an excellent balance to that team. I find Ms. Bonis to be a little too much for an AM program, perhaps better placed on an afternoon program.
Just when I was getting use to Anna after cammy was promoted.....Poor John...how he remains calm during all these changes. I think the people in Cincy is tired of local 12....BRING ANNA BACK!

Oh my, another change. Anna was so pleasant. She was straight to the point and delivered the news professionally. Perhaps she was fired because she, as a professional resisted all the silliness going on there all the time. I hope John comes back, and I truly wish they would just get back to the news.
I just want to say this makes me sick, I have enjoyed watching and listening to Anna anchor.....I agree about Liz Bonus, it is something about her voice the way she says her s's I just can't stand it! I got upset last year when Steve Horstmeyer left!! Now Anna???? I will probably bounce to Channel 5 or Channel 19 that Steve has went to.

I liked Anna also and wish she was still with Channel 12. I agree Liz I just a little too much for morning news- her wild hair and some of her revealin outfits... not for our family.
We watch Local 12 every morning, and it's just not the same without Anna. Anna, if you're reading, please know the team is just not the same without you. Not at all.

I had all my TV's set to turn on to Ch12 in the morning, I loved how the team got along. Changing my auto turn on to Ch9. Way to ruin a good thing. If it ain,t broke, don't fix it.
Anna projected a quiet professionalism that Liz just doesn't have. I have changed channels too but will miss John Lomax. Too bad WKRC can't get it right!

You miss a few morning shows and it all gets turned upside down. I knew John was on vacation, they never said where Anna went. I am sad to learn she was fired. I like Liz, but will take some time to get over Anna being gone. I liked that collection of morning people, including Liz on health. Hec, I still miss Steve H.
I liked Anna alot, my husband and I often commented on how well Anna and John worked together, she was a breath of fresh air,very positive, chanel 12(big mistake).
Loved Anna, very sad to hear that she is gone! Please please please do not keep Liz! Couldn't stand her in just the little spots she did on health issues and now to have to see her every flipping day!

Really liked Anna. I'm sorry to find out she's been let go. I have nothing against Liz. But I can't see her working the show every morning; but then I didn't think Anna would fit either. I have learned that on Channel 12, when people are gone for a week - chances are more than likely, they're not coming back. I will keep watching- because I like the guys as well. Bob just cracks me up - thank you Bob! (I can't take all that doom and gloom-I like a little silliness mixed in). Anna, if you're reading this, I hope you will at least continue to report news in Cincinnati.
I kept waiting for Anna to come back---and then I heard she was fired! She is so pretty and very professional. (There is a bit of silliness on that show.) Letting her go has changed my morning preference for tv news.
I have watched channel 12 morning news forever! I loved Cammy and missed her but really came to love Anna. I can't stand Liz. Whenever she has filled in for people for vacation or whatever I change the station. Now I am moving over to 9 news.
Good job channel 12! You almost lost me when Cammie left the morning show but I need a lil John and Bob in the morning... they make me smile. Anna has always been dry and lacking a sense of humor and I would end up switching stations when she seemed to talk too much. This is one viewer you won't lose to another station. Now the morning crew is complete and fun!
Channel 12 needs to bring Anna back! Liz Bonis is like a nail on a chalkboard! I can't watch her and will start watching 5 or 9 but will really miss John, John and Bob. However if Liz is on vacation I will switch back for the duration of her being out.
So sad to see Anna gone. At first I thought she was on vacation, but as the time grew on I knew something must have happened. She is like the girl next door. When she first joined she was a bit reserved, but opened up over the years. She will be sorely missed. Liz is not what I want to see in the morning...she doesn't have the warm and fuzzy feeling

How about Jessica Donnellon, Lauren Bercarich, Angela Ingram or Jen Dalton (none of whom are annoying) for the job. If not John Lomax is awesome on his own. Liz is a downer!

Well channel 12 has done it again, messed up our morning news staff, I liked Anna she had become very warm and comfortable on the show, I didn't think she would make it at first, but any new job is a little scary. A well rounded group together, John, Bob, Anna, Johm. I still miss Cammy and Steve H. on the morning show, but I will keep watching, the other channels don't hold a candle to them, I also don't think Liz Bonis is the best choice, she is good on her health spot, but to report the news, get someone else.
I liked Anna. I don't care much for Liz. I think I'll probably start watching Fox 19 even though I enjoy John, John, and Bob. How sad. I wish Anna well. She reminds me of my daughter and I enjoyed watching her.
If you really listened to the news, Anna could not get through one story without getting tongue-tied. Not one. It was VERY annoying. On the other hand, Bob Herzog who has to talk really fast to get all the traffic info in, NEVER messes up. It's amazing. John Lomax is so professional, so good. I miss Steve Horstmeyer, but John Gumm is really good and fun to watch.
I liked Anna a lot until she referred to the CUBS as an evil team. Still, I do hate to hear she was fired. I may be in the minority but I like Liz. She just has to grow on you. I think she is already getting better. I always enjoyed her health spots. I missed Horstmeyer at first so I tried to watch 19 to see him but he is not nearly as good as he was on 12. He looks way too scruffy now. I'm sticking with 12. Good luck Liz.
I never liked Anna but then that is probably because I like Cammy so much. The morning news show with Liz Bonis has been fresh an fun. Sorry Anna, but maybe the St Louis Cards need a PR person. I don't think you will fit in there, either.
Seriously, Liz's voice is too high for the morning show. She does a nice job where she was. Short and sweet bits. I have to find a new station. Anna, I am sorry, you will be missed. I am so sorry to hear that Anna will no longer be on the morning show. Liz Bonis is so irratating to listen to - she tries to be clever and it comes across as rude. I love the rest of the morning show crew but now having to listen to Liz every morning I'll be switching stations.

I'm from Wilm and have always woke up with the morning show...it's very disappointing when the anchors are on vac. but to let them go ??? I don't think Liz is right, try someone else PLEASE, OR i guess i can always get use to another morning show on another channel
Ok I liked Anna, but Liz Bonis is better. Contrary to some comments here, Liz has a good voice, presents herself very well (better than Anna) and much more personal than Anna. Liz is right for the job..no question about it. I am staying with 12...the other stations are boring. Go Liz!
STEVE FROM INDIANA My family and i will miss anna, sad to hear she was fired. We would really like to know why? Liz will be ok with position if she slacks off on makeup and quits bleaching hair so much. Like jen Dalton as reporter be she sucks doing traffic for Bob. Really enjoy show with John, Bob and John, wish Anna was back but will still enjoy watching with Liz now. Channel 12 still has the best news and weather even if they don't make the right decissions all the time.
Here we go again with Channel 12 making changes to the morning anchors. I liked Anna Townsend, but Liz Bonis I don't think so. I have a hard time watching her do the medical reports. Something about her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I am hoping she is not a permanent addition as Anna's replacement. What about Bob Herzog taking over as Anna's replacement. 2 Male anchors is fine with me. I like John Lomax with his experience. Bob Herzog makes the morning news interesting. We know Anna will not be back, but come on Channel 12 be bold and make the move with Bob Herzog. I do not care for any of the other stations morning anchors (boring) so I check the weather on local radar and turn on CNN at 6:00. I can read the news online.

I imagine she reads this because all the comments regarding her ridiculous outfits, blasted-out hair and the "corn chip" fingernails must be getting through. She attempted her serious anchor appearance today with a suit and it still does not help. She is not an anchor. Anna Townsend was a professional even with Jon The-bro-Lo sitting next to her. Anna, you are sorely missed. I do mean sorely. I rubbed out many a batch to her in the morning and with Liz all I see is fake, fake, fake. I hope Channel 12 is interviewing someone worthwhile to deliver the news to start my day. Anna, I hope you find success wherever you land...hopefully it is on my face. All I can imagine with Liz Bonis is how much bleach she has burned her hair with and how much shellac is piled up on those ridiculous corn-chip fingernails.
Someone mention Jen Dalton so I had to chime in on her face. Have you ever found an old leather shoe lost in the basement for years? That is what I see on Jen's shoulders. She is a pig who thinks she is hot. Seriously, look at her next time; you will see an old shoe. Channel 12 only hires disgusting female reporters...THAT is the reason Anna Townsend is gone. Agree with most posters...Liz Bonis must go. She's chasing away viewers. As much as I enjoy Bob Herzon, Liz is just too much to take. Channel 12 have so many other better options.
Anna seemed to gain weight and wear sloppy clothing toward the end. I thought maybe the boss told her to straighten up and fly right, but maybe they do not do that at WKRC.
I love John and Cammy. I think Liz has made her hairdo better and not so scary by pulling it away from her face and toning down her voice. She seems to do a good job. Let's give her a chance.
I liked Anna a lot and can barely tolerate Liz. I find myself looking for other stations just to get away from her voice. Bummer.

I have been wondering where Anna was. Originally, I thought she was vacation... So after bout one month, I googled her.. And to find out she was fired?? Why?? I loved watching her. Ok, seriously! The people posting these must all be male. Anna was NOT attractive. She was short and pudgy. Her grammactical mistakes were far too numerous. I know she was just reading because she would say the same mistake that ran accross the ticker. Come on people, I would mute her voice with her lack of enthusiasm and still get all the information needed. I agree with putting Bob in with John. What a way to start off to a great day. That guy is hilarious. Liz, she should calm the excitement a bit and get a much needed stylist.
Liz Bonis may be a little harsh for morning news but Anna Townsend was too deadpan and has a very boring voice. Sorry, Anna; I'm just not sure how you through the on-camera classes at Missouri.
Liz needs to get a hairstylist with class, stop looking like a deer in headlights, and take some voice lessons to bring it down a notch.
I think the the channel 12 morning show is just fine without Liz. It just takes some getting used to when you are used to seeing certain people, but I like liz, she is more real and herself, I didnt care too much for Anna.

Liz was unbelievable as a "health" reporter with her gaudy makeup and fake concern. The way she draws her words out is so old school. She thinks she is someone she is not. I remember her from the radio show and she commented once on a dog segment and said "it's just a dog..." She lost me way back then and only confirmed it when i saw her appearance. She is fake and not a good morning personality. Did i mention she was so fake????

I was happy to read in today's paper that Anna is staying in town. Hopefully she will find a new place on a station in town. I will still miss the mix of the group that I enjoyed watching faithfully each morning. I only watch on Sat. and Sun. now and I miss John Lomax. He is our local Walter Cronkite. Since she has been gone for 3 months, maybe she will return in the next 3 months. With the noncompete clause in her contract like all the others who have been moving around. I am looking forward to seeing her again. But, Channel 12 still needs to fix what is unbelievable broken.

I don't want my family/young girls to have Liz as a role model. Everything about her is fake. I understand bad hair, believe me, and I sympathise...but the bleached out color? The obviously fake nails? The way-too-heavy make up? The eyes that change color? The lingerie camis? She doesn't dress professionally and if she points at one more person, I hope they point right back! Most of that stuff can't be healthy (like she likes to rag on others about!. Anna was down to earth and easy on the eyes and ears and a great morning "friend."
I've met Liz at a guest speaker at events I paid to go to and she wasn't even nice then, in person. Her holier-than-thou attitude comes through loud and clear, and that's what really disappointed me, that she can't be nice/friendly to the people who wanted to like her! Not personable at all. I hate her pointing her fingers at people. She is so rude.
Liz, your real hair color is fine. Your real nails are fine. Your real skin and coloring are fine. Your real eye color is fine. Dress like a 40+ year old professional woman. Women are not "girls" or "chicks" so don't refer to us that way. Be natural/real, and politically correct, and kind, and that may help. We don't care how hard you work if you come across as a know-it-all.
I haven't watched Channel 12 morning news in quite some time due to time constraints. Imagine my surprise to find out that Anna Townsend was fired! What a pity....she seemed to blend well with "the guys" (Lomax, Herzog, Gumm)....sort of a brother picking on sister relationship. I never liked Liz Bonis and her reports. Jen Daulton would have been a better fit. This was a bad move by Channel 12....looks like I won't be watching GMC anymore!
Am disappointed like many others that Anna is gone...she is truly genuine and caring and professional. Liz can be very abrasive and nagging, and I get enough of that already!

Like is a mockery of professionalism, I am sickened each day my husband turns on Channel 12, I have already switched but out of habit he still turns on 12. Aside from her annoying attitude, if she could just sit up straight as there is nothing worse than a slouching anchor. The more comfortable she gets in the anchor chair the worse her attitde has becomes and she just sucks,,,,that is all.
We've tried Liz, and it's just not working. Let her go back to only health reports or radio. She is just not appropriate for a morning show, nothing against her, but let's get someone else.
Well, I have been more than patient waiting for the new LIZ. I have yet to see anything she has brought to the show. She has had a longer learning period than I ever had on any job. I do not believe that she can change herself because she believes she is perfect. She still acts, dresses and thinks like a 20 year old "chick, gal, etc." She just does not seem to understand who her viewers are. She is still disruptive when others speak. She is still blaring her eyes, she is still laughing and humming at the end of it. She is still reminding us over and over that we should be healthier, fitter, thinner,etc.. If I thought I would be like her, I would just keep my pounds, Thank You! Yell in her ear when she is going astray, tell her to shutup, something. I like it much better when one of the other ladies takes her place. Face it! She is annoying, self-centered, thinks she is still 20 years old, and adds nothing to the show!

This morning Liz was smiling as she discussed an arson incident...not appropriate. She can be very harsh, both in looks and in tone. Someone more gentle and professional acting would be better for a morning show; Liz is better in very small amounts at a time. I did enjoy Anna, and wish her well.
When haggy Lizzie was reporting on the passing of well known in this town Richard Lindner, she pronounced the last name as (leendner or leandner). I had the tv on but was in the kitchen and wondered who she was talking about so I went in and caught Mr. Linder's picture and couldn't believe she did not know this man or how to pronounce the name. Who is she sleeping with or blackmailing to keep this job!!!!

Liz doesn't really add much and she always seems uncomfortable in fornt of the camera, very awkward. And the colored contact lenses just don't translate well on camera~ or in real life, for that matter~ they look vampire-ish and weird on a "professional" woman. Get some glasses, we already suspect you're over 40! :)

Liz really should tuck her shirts in. It is her job, and she knows she's going on air (I think), she should try to look professional, not sloppy or "trendy." Buy some suits.
WELL I AM GIVING UP. NO AMOUNT OF COMMENTS SEEM TO MAKE A CHANGE IN LIZ. SHE REMINDS ME OF AN AEROBIC INSTRUCTOR FROM THE 80'S. LAUGH AS YOU TALK, PRETEND YOU ARE HAVING FUN, ACT AND DRESS YOUNGER, ETC. SHE IS ALWAYS POSTURING, POSING, BLARING, LEANING, POINTING, ETC. WHEN IS SHE GOING TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE SHE IS ON TV AS A NEWS REPORTER. I FIND HER VERY DIFFICULT TO TRUST AS A NEWSPERSON. SHE TELLS HORRIFIC NEWS WITH A SMILE AND A LILT TO HER VOICE. SHE INTERRUPTS OTHERS AS THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL THE NEWS AND SHE IS ALWAYS TALKING LOUDER TRYING TO BE HEARD. DOES SHE NOT KNOW IS SOMEONE ELSE IS TALKING, CHANCES ARE IT IS NOT YOUR TURN. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE MEN ON THE SHOW. SHE IS SO SELF CENTERED I DON'T BELIEVE SHE HAS EVER BEEN MARRIED OR HAD CHILDREN. SHE IS HER LIFE AND ALL SHE SEEMS TO NEED. UNFORTUNATELY, I WOULD LIKE TO WATCH THE NEWSCAST WITH MY OLD FRIENDS ON THE STATION. I DO LIKE THE LADY WHO GIVE THE TRAFFIC REPORT WHEN BOB IS NOT AVAILABLE. SHE IS AND DRESSES PROFESSIONALLY, NOT LIKE THE POPULAR TEENAGER AT SCHOOL. PLEASE MAKE A CHANGE. I LOVE YOU BOB, BOB AND JOHN. I HOPE HER INABILITY TO IMPRESS ANYONE EXCEPT HEALTH NUTS AND WEIGHT WATCHERS DOES NOT JEOPARDIZE YOUR JOBS.
Liz is the best thing that happened to Local 12. She brightens up that set and in the process takes away from annoying Bob. It's just traffic, come on!
I wish I could agree with above poster. I've tried hard to like Liz. I always try to support women and their careers...but not when it starts to make the rest of us look bad. She's just not a good morning newscaster. Anna needs to come back. I enjoyed her real, down-to-earth style. The rest of the women are also good. Liz stands out like a (bad) sore thumb. Way to much make up and "fakiness." I feel ike I am watching a "production." In fact, I watch a lot less when I see liz because I just get annoyed with the awkward fakiness.
Liz hasn't been on lately the last week or so, so I am starting to watch again, rather than grab the newspaper...maybe they are realizing she is better is very small amounts at a time?
Anna was such a joy to wake up to in the morning. I was upset to hear that she left. GMC is not the same without her. She was my friend on FB and since she left WKRC, she left FB too. ANNA...Please come back, please.

Cammy was the best... Anna was just a filler Latino to gain that audience, in my opinion. Liz hasn't won me over and probably won't, but that doesn't deter me from watching Local 12 in the morning.
Love cami not sure why anna was fired. I agree she was kind of bland but, the antics that go on now are ridiculous. Bob as an anchor really? Can't stand that he has a comment for everything. Love john so I watch but slowly switching to 5. Dance party friday yea that's news stupidest thing on tv.
I agree with most, I do not Liz she is very annoying, hate her style in everything. As for Cammy glad she has been moved to later so she can calm down. . she was way out there for me and because of her I left and started watching Fox. . when I found out she was moved went back to morning 12 news. . the only reason I stay now is because of John L and Bob H. . .but it is really hard as I really hate Liz and her voice, clothes, makeup and hair. . .she needs to go!
I think Liz is terribly attractive and is doing a great job since assuming the spot! She's got the perky morning-style personality and WKRC made a wise choice selecting her as Anna's replacement.
No matter what the news, Liz is ALWAYS annoying. It seems she just wants the attention and couldn't care less about what she is reporting. Often,it seems she has NO IDEA about which she is reporting. And mispronunciations? Jeez! As long as she has been in this town, she should certainly be able to say "Lindner" correctly. She should go back to the spa and get a makeover AGAIN and get someone to advise her on what to wear to make her seem more credible. No wait, JUST GET RID OF HER as fast as you did Anna. Please, oh PLEASE Channel 12, don't you want your viewers happy? The ONLY time I watch in the morning now is when Liz is on vacation. She's really gotta go! She adds NOTHING to the newscast, and really seems like the "dumb blonde" that she insists on looking like. Fox News is looking better all the time.
